KP down & out while Saints invade the Pig Sty...

Bad news for KP (Kevin Presenza) this week with the news that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and also has a partial tear to the medial and some other damage to his knee, effectively ending his season and no doubt delaying his start to 2011 season.

While forced to watch on and work the game board, KP with a little help from Shannon Metcalfe supplied us with a replacement on baller in the form of another bloke called Dan or (HB - Hardbody) as he was soon nick named by the Saints faithful.

Short again for the 3rd game in a row, we again borrowed from the opposition and a bloke called Kev (not KP) came across to lend a hand in the forward line.

The Pigs were short also and we kicked off with 15 a side. Some open play to begin with by the pigs was soon controlled with some good rebound coming from half back and through the midfield. Raoul Temme starred early for Saints with 2 goals and Paul Vasoli got involved also.

Big Rooster at fullforward was hard to stop for the Pigs and Mike Ward & Co had their work cut out for them for much of the first half.

Saints took a 1 goal lead in to the first change but the pressure couldn't be maintained and went goaless in the second with Vic Park adding 4 to their tally.

The 3rd quarter was pretty even if not for the Pigs being inaccurate in front of goal, the story could have been a lot different.

Raoul & Vas again popped up with a goal a piece & the welcome return of Changa (Charlie Schuiling) in the forward pocket where his hands worked well and the knee held up for him to kick a major also.

A change to the Vic Parks ruckman wasn't a success and the Saints won more ball from the middle to enable quick goals to ringin Kev amongst others.  Four goals to the Saints in the final quarter saw to what could only be described as another well fought out draw.

On the whole, a spirited game played by and enjoyed by all.

On the downside, we are still looking for part of Jason Holmes' nose that he lost from a rocket handball from HB and also misplaced were both of his lungs from a huge hit out on the wing.
